A woman approaches Honda car showroom with four sacks of 1-yuan notes
The Chinese woman surprised workers at a domestic car dealership when she showed up at the showroom with four bags full of cash to purchase a car.
The bags were full of 1-yuan notes in total close to 130,000 yuan (over $19,000). However, the awkward part was the time 20 members of staff sat for over 60 minutes to count the whole cash in the bags.
The woman, who owns a construction firm, had 4 sacks of ‘loose change’. While being aware the showroom takes in small denominations, she made up her mind to procure a car using the money.
“The customer called me to ask if she could make payment in small bills. I replied “yes, of course’. Then she called to say ‘come carry the money for me’. I opened her car boot only to see 4 sacks of 1-yuan notes,” a baffled worker stated in a TV interview.
Dumbfounded with the scenario, the dealership even asked mechanics to assist them with the huge exercise at hand. The situation was announced last week at a Honda car showroom in Binzhou, Shandong Province.
The woman was said to bring a car with value more than 200,000 yuan and completed the remaining amount via mobile banking.
Anyways, this is actually not the first time such a bizarre situation would happen. Sometimes in 2016, a man from Texas made payment for a traffic fine of $222.60 with 2 buckets of pennies.
Isn’t this just crazy? 🙂
