Pictures from the group of the forthcoming Venom movie may disclose the identity of Riz Ahmed’s role.

As fans were firstly so resistant to the concept of an Eddie Brock film without Spider-Man,etc put the movie back on their expected list when Tom Hardy accepted to take the titular role.

The A-lister’s inclusion certainly ignited the hype flames, just as other talent inclusion like Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, and director Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) did.

Venom’s individual movie gained even much more energy when upcoming star Riz Ahmed (Rogue One) joined the project. It was firstly thought that Ahmed had accepted to take Carnage role, aka Cletus Kasady, although that news was later squashed.

Two months after production started, we still do not know who is acting Carnage. On the bright side, we have a somewhat good idea of which character Ahmed is taking on.

Atlanta Filming has just disclosed the set photo of Ahmed shown below, from their sources, he is acting Dr. Carlton Drake in the film.

Drake is a key act in the Lethal Protector comic arc, where Hardy has verified is a main source of inspiration for the movie adaptation.

Drake is the head of the Life Foundation, the group wanting to tap into Venom’s power and reproduce it. The five ending symbiotes of their test (Agony, Lasher, Riot, Phage, and Scream) are then used with the intent of destroying Venom for good.

Eddie Brock will definitely be ocupied in this one, and it seems Riz Ahmed is positioned to be the one pulling the strings.

If Atlanta Filming‘s sources are perfect, this will surely be a new obstacle for Ahmed. Well known for his input in Nightcrawler, Rogue 1, and The Night Of, we have not actually seen the actor play an evil role of this extent yet.

However, given the 35-year old is off the charts talent, we are really not putting it past him. We are not totally sure where Carnage fits in the pic, as newest rumors that Scott Haze would be acting the mass-killing symbiote were lately squashed as well.

There is often the tendency that the Life Foundation is accountable for his formation as well, definitely. We might just need to wait till Venom hits the cinema later 2018 to know for sure.
