Thousands folks round the world were bidding their final farewell to a terminally unwell military dog, Cena, who was euthanised some time after being diagnosed with bone cancer.
Cena, a ten-year-old black dog, had served 3 tours in Afghanistan with the United States of America Marines.
On Wed his life was celebrated in Michigan, with photos showing individuals petting and hugging him for one last time.
The ceremony, that saw Cena ride in a vehicle, was well attended with representatives from the military, police and department of local government manifestation.
A fellow service dog named Rex conjointly showed up to pay his respects.
The day was organized by his owner, Lance Cpl. Jeff DeYoung, who was paired with the previous bomb-sniffer dog in 2009 and 2010 whereas on a combat tour in Afghanistan.

‘My entire adult life I’ve had Cena,’ DeYoung said.

The dog was laid to rest at the USS LST 393, a museum ship in Muskegon.
