Jose Mourinho has called his Manchester United players “childish” after they drew the match with Leicester City on Saturday.
Manchester United appeared so ready to possess the 3 points at the King Power Stadium when they were leading 2-1 till the end of the halves against a Foxes side who were reduced to 10-men after Daniel Amartey was given a red card.
However Harry Maguire hit United post 4 minutes into injury time to gain a point for the hosts and left United 13 points behind the leading Manchester City at Christmas.
This is the 2nd time in a week Manchester United had conceded in injury time, having been thrashed out of the League Cup by Bristol City on Wednesday night, and Mourinho was smoking on his players saying they couldn’t to close out the game against Leicester.
“We made a huge defensive mass of errors in a match to have won easily,” he said.
“I spoke with the players at half time when at 1-1 that it’s an easy match to have won.
When Mourrinho was asked if it was a mistake to had conceded the first go as well, he said the midfield players didn’t control the space between lines.
“The fact is that it’s 2-2. Attimes you make some mistakes and aren’t punished by that.
“We’re punished by ours. It was an easy match to have won, we did all we could to win but when you lose huge opportunities.
“Childish loss of possession, very easy. Childish in their box and childish in ours. We’re punished in 2 points.”
