While people work so hard to desist from gambling, some things just emerge acting like magnet giving a hope of success…
A boy from Florida said he plans to “have some fun” after he emerged sole winner of a $451 million (£330m) lottery jackpot.
Shane Missler, 20 years, matched 5 numbers with a bonus ball to scoop the 4th biggest win in the United States game’s history.
He decided to take a one-time payment of $282m, instead of the full payment over a longer period.
Mr Missler said he had that premonition he could win on that night of the Mega Millions draw, in a press release.
Some minutes after the draw, about a week ago, January 5th, he posted on Facebook: “Oh. My. God.”
Mr Missler tendered his winning ticket at the state lottery headquarters in Tallahassee on Friday, coming with him was his father, a lawyer.
He said he has huge plans for his winnings.
“I am only 20, but I plan to use it in pursuit of different of passions, assist my family and do humanity some good,” said Mr Missler, according to the statement.
He told the Tampa Bay Times: “I intend to care for my family, have some fun all the way and seal a path for financial success so as to leave a legacy far into the future.”
His lawyer said his client had “retired” from his job at a company that carried out employment background checks.
Mr Missler came with his winning ticket at a 7-11 in his hometown, Port Richey, 40 miles (64km) north of Tampa, making use of a “Quick Pick” option that randomly picked the numbers.
Here are the winning numbers 28, 30, 39, 59, and 70 with a “Mega Ball” of ten.
“If there’s one thing I have learnt so far in my short time on this planet, it’s that those who keep a positive mindset and stay true to themselves get rewards,” Mr Missler said.
“I anticipate the future.”
